Conclusions
The Camp David Accords became an archetype of diplomatic success in the Middle East. They were successful because of a combination of three elements: a need for peace, political will, and direct U.S. involvement. The Accords marked a mostly positive turning point in U.S foreign policy with the direct involvement of a U.S. president in Middle Eastern negotiations. They set the stage for future diplomatic peace treaties involving U.S. presidents.
